ILE'S TEAM ACCOMPLISHES ACTIVITIES IN USA AND GUATEMALA

Puelles, Ortiz and Tapia traveled to participate in important events

San Borja, Lima.- From april 19 to May 7, a ILE's team traveled to Colorado, USA and Guatemala to accomplish a serie of academic events meetings and institute relations with ocassion of important events scheduled by Atlas Economic Research Foundation, Heritage Foundation and Francisco Marroquin University from Guatemala.

In this opportunity traveled Walter Puelles Navarrete, Myriam Ortiz Herrera and José Luis Tapia whom participate in different meetings. 

Ortiz and Tapia were in a breakfast with new intellectual entrepreneurs on april 19 in the morning organized by Atlas Foundation at Broadmoor Hotel where atteend 21 think tanks representatives from all continents. Each participant introduced its institution and after during this session established contacts with differents organizations with similars objectives. During of Tapia's introducing pointed out a recent work with christian leaders that is being executed since 2005, while Ortiz introduced Hispanic America Liberal Conference created in March 2006 and fostered by Rumbo Propio of Venezuela and ILE of Peru.

In the afternoon, it began 29th Resource Bank Meeting organized by Heritage Foundation where ILE put its stand with publications and promotional materials. ILE was the only institute of south america which was represented in this important meeting where all publications were taken by a great number of atteendes. 

During lunchs and dinners, ILE´s representatives hold conversations and establish contacts with John Blundell, General Director of Institute of Economic Affairs of London  and member of Advisors Council; Alberto Carnero and Jose Herrera of FAES foundation from Spain; Ernest Taylor, Director of Awakening, Inc of Atlanta, USA; John Carpay, Executive Director of Canadian Constitution Foundation; Bernt Joahn Collet, Director of Board of Center for Political Studies from Denmark; Lene Johansen, Director of Operations in USA of Eudora Think Tank AB of Sweden; Michael Tseng, Manager of Foundation for Individual Rights in Education de Philadelphia, USA; Yuri Mantilla, Director of International Government Affairs of Focus on The Family, Colorado, USA; Mark Mullins, Executive Director of The Fraser Institute of Canada; Charles L. Heatherly, Director of Reserch and Planning of Office of Congressman Tom Tangredo of Colorado, USA; Chung-Ho Kim, President of Center for Free Enterprise of South Korea; Robert C. Haywood, Secretariat Director of World Economic Processing Zones Association of USA; Becky Norton Dunlop, Vice president of Heritage Foundation, USA; Vincent Miller, President of ISIL,USA; Carlos Chardon, Executive Director of Republican Party of Puerto Rico; Jose Antonio Lozano Diez and Jaime Olaiz Gonzales of Panamerican University of México; and Jon Basil Utley, Associated Editor of  The American Conservative in Washington, USA.

On april 21 at night, during Sir Antony Fisher Award dinner at the Liberty Forum organized by Atlas Foundation, Ortiz y Tapia gave copies of "Business, economics and freedom" book to Alvaro Vargas Llosa that he prologued. On saturday, at lunch, ILE representatives received a diploma by honored mention during the John Templeton Awards.

On april 26, Tapia and Puelles traveled to Guatemala to attendee at Colloquia Explorations on Liberty invited by Francisco Marroquin University. Although, when Tapia arrived to Guatemala was interviewed by Jorge Jacobs, at "Todo Pulmón" radio program to comment on peruvian elections. One hour later, Tapia participated as commentor in a TV political program in Antigua Channel directed by Alfred Kaltschmitt to talk on political process in Peru. At 1800 hrs, there was a meeting at Student Center where hold a discussion on "Businees, economics and freedom" wrote by Jose Luis Tapia, Guillermo Vidalón and Myriam Ortiz with participation of Roberto Blum, Julio César de León Barbero and Ricardo Castillo, general secretary of Francisco Marroquin Univerisity (UFM). Others attendees were Lilian Yon, Executive Director of Federation of Chamber of Commerce of Central America; David Martinez, Director of IBN Khaldum and Pedro Trujillo, Director of Institute of International Relations of UFM. 

On april 26, in the morning and in a lunch organized by Center IBN Khaldum, began a socratic discussion in a seminar with students, graduated and professors of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences related to political process and political future in South America, and some thoughts from first round on peruvian  presidential elections.

In the evening of this day, Cámara de la Libre Empresa (CLE) de Guatemala (Chamber of Free Enterprise) invited to Jose Luis Tapia to delivery a lecture on free enterprise and its latinamerica perspective at the AeroClub with participation ofRamiro Fallace,  CLE secretary; Gustavo Martinez, CLE's president; and Marysabel García, Executive Director of CLE, between others important members of this branch.

On May 5, Walter Puelles gave a lecture in the morning at socratic breakfast  on "Education, Business and State" directed to univeristy students of the faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations of Francisco Marroquín University.
